Killing Time
Words and Music by Mike Younger

I remember like it was yesterday
every song that old jukebox used to play
like strangers waiting on the same slow train
it was bound to carry each of us away
We were all just killing time and getting through the night
and all that really mattered was feeling alright
Things were simpler then
it was good enough just to find a friend
and in my mind I can still pretend
to bridge the distance that time will never mend
We were all just killing time and getting through the night
and all that really mattered was feeling alright
I often wonder what became of you
and if you ever really found what you were after
when you set out on your own
I sure wish you were sitting here with me
I sure could use a little company
and lately I've been feeling so far away from home
We used to all look out for each other
kind of like sisters and brothers
it seems so far away from me now
must have slipped right through my fingers somehow
We were all just killing time and getting through the night
and all that really mattered was feeling alright
I guess that I aint been so easy to find
the truth is I've been spending most of my time
chasing rainbows round a hairpin turn in the road
I sure wish you were sitting here with me
I sure could use a little company
and lately I've been feeling so far away from home
We were all just killing time and getting through the night
and all that really mattered was feeling alright
